Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of PSCFA, I am pleased to invite you to the PSCFA Fall Championship Tournament to be held at Mt. San Antonio College December 5–7, 2025.

At the Fall Championship Tournament your students will be able to compete in:

  • On Friday, December 5th, we will offer rookie, novice, junior, and senior divisions of NPDA Debate.
  • On Saturday, December 6th, we will offer novice, junior, and senior divisions of NFA-LD and IPDA.
  • On Sunday, December 7th, we will offer novice, junior, and senior divisions of 12 individual events.

All entries are due by 6:00pm on Monday, December 1st, 2025. Visit the Forensics Tournament website
to enter. Tournament Entry will be available beginning on Monday, November 10th.

A Few Important Reminders

  • Judges are expected to accept ballots as soon as they are notified through FTN.
  • Judges are encouraged to submit ballots ASAP after the round. Additional comments can be added any time before the end of the tournament.
  • Drops after the Wednesday deadline do not alter a school’s judging commitment.

New Rules for 2025

  • Code of Conduct: Judges are expected to respect our students’ identities, including their identified pronouns, and to require students in their rounds to do the same. Intentional or repeated violations may result in judge removal and/or forfeiture of the round.
  • Speed in Debate: Rate of speed should not negatively impact other students’ ability to engage. Violations may result in loss of the round.
  • Coach of the Day Sign-In: Each attending school must designate a “Coach of the Day.” A sign-in sheet will be located at the judges table where coaches will list their name and contact information.
  • Division Eligibility (Debate):
    • Rookie: No previous competitive experience in debate or individual events at any level.
    • Novice: No more than two semesters of debate and no elimination rounds at three or more debate tournaments, nor any medals at CCCFA or Phi Rho Pi, nor elimination round awards at NPDA, CEDA, NDT, or other national championships.
    • Junior: No more than four semesters of NDT/CEDA or Parliamentary debate and no elimination rounds in junior or open divisions of three CEDA/NDT/Parli tournaments. National medals count as final rounds.
  • Fees: A $50 nuisance fee will be added if a school does not meet with the treasurer in person before awards on its final competition day to obtain an invoice and confirm payment method/timing. Ballots will not be released until this requirement is met.

Attached you will find more detailed tournament information, rules, procedures, and entry forms. Please refer to the PSCFA Handbook for the newest rules at
