Spring Championships Naming Award
(“The Ghost of Spring Champs”)
The Spring Championships Naming Award, informally known as “The Ghost of Spring Champs”, honors a distinguished past member of PSCFA by naming the Spring Championships in their recognition.
Purpose of the Award
Each year, the PSCFA Spring Championships shall be named after a nominated and elected former member of PSCFA in recognition of their service, leadership, and lasting contributions to the organization.
📩 Nomination Process
- Each PSCFA member school may submit one nominee per year.
- For the first year, nominations are submitted at the Fall Championships Tournament.
- In subsequent years, nominations are submitted at the Coaches Retreat.
- All nominations must be finalized no later than January 1.
⚖️ Selection Committee
The Vice President of PSCFA will convene a selection committee to review nominations and determine the annual recipient.
The committee will strive to maintain an equitable balance between four-year and two-year institutions when selecting recipients.
🏆 Recognition & Honors
- The Spring Championships will be officially named after the selected recipient.
- The Sweepstakes trophies will bear the recipient’s name.
- The recipient will receive a plaque of recognition.
If possible, the recipient will be invited to:
- Speak at the Spring Championships awards ceremony
- Assist in handing out trophies
- Judge final rounds
