Fall Championships

October 21, 2014

Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of PSCFA, we are pleased to invite you to the PSCFA Fall Championship Tournament to be held at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California on December 5-7, 2014!

There is something for everyone at Fall Champs! On Friday, students may compete in novice, junior, and senior divisions of NFA-LD and IPDA and rookie Parliamentary Debate. On Saturday, we will offer novice, junior, and senior divisions of Parliamentary Debate and British parliamentary Debate. On Sunday, we will offer novice, junior, and senior divisions of 12 individual events.

We are excitedly preparing our campus for this event. We have secured extra access to our guest WiFi; however, we anticipate that the number of users will exceed our server’s capacity. We recommend that, when possible, schools bring their own HotSpot and refrain from non- tournament-related internet usage. Additionally, we will not be providing Team Prep rooms for debate. Please ensure that the judge is the first person to enter each room. Also, please do not move any technology in the rooms.

All entries are due by 6:00pm on Monday, December 1, 2014. YOU MUST USE THE WEB ENTRY SYSTEM. Visit http://www.forensicstournament.net to enter. Tournament Entry will be available beginning on Wednesday, November 19.

A Few Important Reminders:
1) “FRED” Certification: All judges must be certified before they can judge; uncertified

judges will not fulfill your team’s judging commitment. Re-certification must be completed annually. Please have your judges go to http://www.pscfa.org and click on the “FRED” link to certify.

  1. 2)  2014 Memorial Fee: This year at the Coaches Conference, we voted to increase tournament fees by $10 for the 2014 Fall Championship Tournament. All proceeds will be donated to the Jannese Davidson Memorial Fund.
  2. 3)  Donations to the Jannese Davidson Memorial Fund: PSCFA Executive Committee will be accepting individual donations to the Jannese Davidson Memorial Fund throughout the tournament weekend. Donations may be made by cash or check.

Attached, please find more detailed tournament information, a description of tournament rules, and procedures and entry forms. Please refer to the PSCFA Handbook for the newest information on Rules, available at http://www.pscfa.org.
